Project Information

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, has initiated a PD&E study along US 27 from north of I-4 to US 192 in preparation for further improvements along this corridor. This study will identify and evaluate all feasible alternatives for widening the corridor, adding paved shoulders, replacing a substandard bridge and straightening non-standard curve geometry within the project limits. In addition to these features, safety features such as sight distance corrections and guard rail options will also be examined.

As a result of the rapid urbanization along this corridor, the study will also include the evaluation of non-motorized transportation needs in this developing area, including existing and proposed trails along with any other appropriate facilities to accommodate walking and bicycling.
